Narrative in the Classroom

Work with Deb Williams, playwright, performer, and co-creator of Mom’s the Word and The Flame (Vancouver's premiere storytelling event), to inject personal and entertaining narrative into your lectures and presentations. Deb will share her expertise in storytelling to help you create an inclusive and compelling learning atmosphere. Bring a short personal anecdote!

Deborah Williams is one of the creators and stars of the international hit comedies Mom’s the WordMom’s the Word 2: Unhinged, and Mom’s the Word: Remixed. Most recently she stared in the comedy After Jerusalem for the Solo Collective, Brighton Beach Memoirs for Gateway Theatre, Everyone for the Caravan Farm Theatre, and Becky’s New Car for the Arts Club Theatre, for which she won a Jessie Award for Best Actress. She has written a number of plays for both adult and young audiences, including The Stay Fresh SpecialWinceBroccoli and Butterflies, and Driftwood. She is currently working on a number of playwriting commissions for west coast theatre companies. She is the co-creator of The Flame, a monthly Vancouver storytelling jam. As a comedian, she is seen regularly on TV, heard on CBC radio, and can be found mouthing off on Rantingparent.com. She is a graduate of Studio 58.
